Born and raised in New York, designer Aimée Wilder’s parents exposed her to fashion trends and textiles from an early age, which laid the foundation for her diverse interests in art and design. After graduating from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 2001, Aimée developed a body of fine-art illustrations that led to design positions at several well-known firms, including Dwell Studio, Martha Stewart Living, and The Gap. In 2008, Vans took notice of her bold designs and playful aesthetic and featured three of her patterns on thirty styles of shoes and fashion accessories, bringing Wilder’s work to a global audience.

After signing her first fashion-licensing contract with Vans, Wilder focused on her long-term interest in designing home decor and created her own eponymous brand. In 2009, she debuted wallpaper designs under the Aimée Wilder label at New York’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair.

Since then, she has collaborated with such prominent design brands as L'Appartement and Vitra and transformed their showrooms with her whimsical designs. Committed to community involvement, Aimée helped furnish Peter Sandal’s installation at the Housing Works fundraiser, Design on a Dime, and has donated wallpaper to Emily Henderson’s renovation of Animal Haven in Soho, as well as to Oslo coffee in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, after a devastating fire.

The eclectic, playful, and adventurous style of Aimée’s graphic design is inspired by her love for exotic destinations, family, and wellness, as well as for her homebase and creative studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In recent years, her offerings have grown to include rugs, fabrics, accessories like pillows and poufs, and contract-grade materials. Always excited for new prospects, Aimée plans to expand her brand into lifestyle and fashion in the near future.

Aimée’s work has been featured everywhere from Vogue, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal as well as in acclaimed design outlets such as Architectural Digest, Interior Design, DesignMilk, Design Sponge, Good Housekeeping, and HGTV Magazine.
